Why did God…

When you read the creation story in the first few pages of Genesis, most people question God choosing a plan that appears imperfect. After all, the humans [He created] fail to obey His one and only command.

This evening, I was reading from Romans 8, which  you can read the 4 verses from the NIRV translation below. The “planned that way by the one who held it back” raises this question for me: can you think of any reason why God would take this path that allowed Him to be dishonored and take on shame (through His Son)? I think that’s a very special way to show/demonstrate the kind of love He has. A short verse from Romans 5:8 written, “here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — but, I think it doesn’t initially make sense to many, because we naturally ask God, “did You really have to do that?” It makes sense when we think about God wanting His human creation to know His love, not in a matrix implanted way, but in a way that’s possible in a freewill environment, where we decide how to respond to the whole rich narrative.

Romans 8:19-22
Everything God created looks forward to the future. That will be the time when his children appear in their full and final glory. The created world was held back from fulfilling its purpose. But this was not the result of its own choice. It was planned that way by the one who held it back. God planned to set the created world free. He didn’t want it to rot away. Instead, God wanted it to have the same freedom and glory that his children have. We know that all that God created has been groaning. It is in pain as if it were giving birth to a child. The created world continues to groan even now.

Q: God’s Existence

The world is filled with individuals with disbelief in the Creator. Here is an interesting way to think about the choice we all need to make about it:

On whose authority are we to understand and accept that God does not exist? Would that be your authority? Or are you believing someone else’s authority? Just like the rest of us, apart from the grace of God, you cannot cope with flawed frailty that greets you when you look in the mirror. I pray that God will cause you to see the futility of wanting the world to be what you want it to be.
